A/C not working
Bought the car knowing the A/C didn't work as per the seller. Looks like new lines installed. I would be very greatful if someone could outline where to start my investigation and run a check list. I did order the books from NCRS but I need to get this fixed asap. (71 SB)

Check to see if the compressor turns. It can be checked w/ engine off & A/C off which disengages the pulley by turning front center part.

If the system has been opened (or you don't know), probably be a good idea to replace the drier and check the compressor oil level. Then pull a vacuum and make sure it will hold the vacuum w/ the pump off. If it does, then you can recharge w/ freon. R12 is expensive and there are a lot of substitutes out there. I know nothing about any of them so will let someone else chime in on those.
