Default C3 vs C6

How would a C3 with a 750-800 hp 540 BBC and an auto trans do against a supercharged C6 with heads, cam, headers etc...?

Depends on how much HP the C6 has. Is it a base motor that is s/c ?

You stand a chance in a straight line at the dragstrip if you are setup properly anything else the C6 doesn't even need the s/c

my GUESS is that the c6 will trounce the c3.

The technology of getting the horsepower to the ground is so much better today combined with a lot less power being robbed to get it there just makes for a tough combo to compete with.

Put a C3 body, on a C6 chassis with comparable driveline, and you have a chance.

Head over to Digital Corvettes those brain surgeons will answer your question. They already have a post in progress.

That is about a stupid question. Use a little brain power of your own.

I would think the C6 will thrash the elephant motored C3 in every respect except one - GRUNT, that heavy duty unrefined kick up the butt, go sideways, sheer old school power

Why bother asking?Just race him and find out how useless the new car's traction control will make that big block torque look!

EXACTLY!

Better upgrade the half shafts in that C3 with that much power! You are also going to need a alot more power out of that C3 to compensate for the much heavier curb wt.

C6 curb weight is about 3200-3300lbs my C3 weighs less than 3200lbs and I have not done much lightening. Not much difference in weight. Like I said anything but a straight line the C6 is going to win however in a straight line it wouldn't be all that difficult to beat a s/c C6.

Oh how we love to underestimate our lowly C3's

Amen....Im building an 81 /496 700 trans somewhere in the 700 HP range with 275 hit.I believe straight line the C6 would have its hands full.... I agree that the LS series engine is great. BUT IT CAN BE BEAT WITH OLD SCHOOL HARDWARE. The C3 can be made to out handle the C6 also. Its whatever floats ur boat. Theres 60,s corvettes camaros box novas etc that would out handle the newest vettes. Its all in what the car nut wants his ride to do........
