I know very little about carbs. When I got my vette I knew nothing. Thats why some of the questions I ask make no sense. I think I`ll get a how to tune a holley book. I assume when you have the most vacuum at idle then it is set. This was done at the dyno and the af ratio was at 18, it was idling at 800 rpm. Do I need to back them out further to richen it up?

try backing them out to richen them up. I have found with my lm1 meter that if you use the highest vacumn method, it is usually still a little fat, I then turn them in 1/8 turn to lean it out. If by turning them out (richer) does not solve your problem, then you need to enlarge the Idle feed restrictors. You must measure the current sixe with a numbered drill bit and then go only .002 bigger at a time. Usually holleys are to fat at idle and i end up putiing a .020 wire in the idle feed restrictor to lean it out. You want 13.5-14.0 at idle and lean cruise
