Default Seat problem

Does anybody out there know how to rework the seat backs on my '81 Vette? They naturally want to lean back like a recliner and I need to get them into an upright position.
Would appreciate any help.

Thanks G

I tried several ways to move the backs forward. Loosen the seat bolts to the floor pan and put spacers under the seat rail. Split heater hose and install where the seat back and seat bottom come in contact. Still not forward enought for my liking. Installed C5 seats. Problem solved

The seat backs should not be leaning back; they should be essentially straight. Check the hinges to see if they need adjustment.

Unfortunately on the '81 s the seat splits part way up and there's NO adjustment to be had. Thinking about having a bracket made.

Thanks anyway.

You can shim the seat tracks at the rear bolts to achieve a more upright positiion. Use washers under the tracks to achieve the desired tilt. You will probably need to use longer bolts if you create a significant shim pack.
