Default Radiator Foam Trim

Wow, who knew that just adding one side and top of foam trim (which were missing) would make a huge difference in the temperature. It now runs to a cool 180 on the highway, even in the city from a constant 200+! Great to have the forum for answers to problems. Many thanks.
Domer.

Hi D,
You can BET that Chevrolet didn't put anything on the car that didn't NEED to be there. The air needs to come through the radator not around it.
Regards,
Alan

Hi Alan
The info from the forum is totally invaluable, and thanks for your comment. I did not know about the "air flow" situation and thanks to the various comments on the forum, I now do.
And, voila, it worked.

does it make enough of a difference when stuck in extended stop-n-go traffic on a hot summer day?

the only thing moving air across the radiator when your not moving, or moving slowly is the fan.
