Default Electric Fan Sensor.

I have 1982 with a crate stroker. I am trying to get an after market electric fan to cycle on and off using the sensor on the right side of the motor scewed into the head.

The question is does this singal wire sensor go to ground when the motor gets hot enough to trip it?

I have a diagram that I found on this forum that shows a 30 amp relay wired with the sensor being a ground, does this sound correct to anyone here?

I think I just need to find a sensor that will ground when the motor heats up.

Please help!!!

you want the temp sensor with the lt.blue wire somewher on the drivers side of engine sensor grounds at sensor and lt.blue wire runs directly to the fan up front.

their are 3 temp sensors on this car do you have the right one

here is what im looking at:

Default 82 electric fan addition

I installed double electric fans on my 1980, used a grounding sensor, and a 30 amp relay. The sensor hooks to the relay to trip the relay on and off, and the relay powers the fans. It is a fairly easy electrical hookup, buy a fan electrical relay kit from Summit or Jegs, it comes with wiring diagram. I use the sensor mounted on the drivers side cylinder head near the front spark plug. You can buy different sensors that turn on and off at various temps. or you can buy a adjustable device that can be changed to various temps.

Default Jegs

I bought a adjustible switch from Jegs. It has a sensor that goes inbetween the fins on the raditor and a **** to set the temp to come on. Bypassed the engine sensor as it did not turn fan on when I wanted.
