Some HO 305 heads work w/ 1.94 in them. Just make sure you get the smaLL chamber heads 56cc not 76cc. You'll have 7 to 1 compression w/ those

Well, an '87 - 96 FI engine is probably the best cheap rebuilder out there. The bores are usually in GREAT shape, and even a mild roller cam swap is a huge performance boost. Tell 'em you're only looking for the longblock and you'll find these pretty reasonable...

I have to admit I'm pretty confused. The point several have made is that you'll spend the same rebuilding a 305 as a 350..so why not get the extra CID? And if you don't care about performance...then why worry about putting in bigger valves (an expensive operation with very little benefit) or finding bigger valve heads?

the 305 im looking at is like an 82 or 84 i cant it was either in an 82 and was an 84 or visa vera.

lol yah 76 CC heads are an nono even on an 350 lol i would only put em on 383 and up.

i might dyno the engine just for ****ts and giggles lol but i only if i am that bored and curious.

i would jump on an 350 if i could find one more compleat then the one at the junk yard for less then 300.
the one at the junk yard has nothing on it except the distributor with no cap no carb i guess or an broken one anyway. no starter,
yah all crap thats cheep but adds up. and i dont have 600 for the other one witch has all the stuff and then some.

i was curious not for performance to much but for like replacement or something like that. i just know of some heads of the 64cc range that me and me only can get for like $60. i didnt want to buy the heads and have the valves hitting on the sides and be back to finding 305 heads. i dont know how much power i would get out of 1.94s. dyno sim says anything from 20-60 HP gain but idk if thats worth $60. lol

im sorry i confused you Billla.

yah i kinda want to make this engine and make my mistakes with it instead of like 327, 350, 383, 400 or 427.

i might just for kicks and to see what i can do try to buld it up from stock. do you guys think the 64 cc heads for $60 are worth it though??
