Also my AIM shows a lockwasher on only one of the 2 front mount bolts and no flat washer on the bolt side. I'm pretty sure it wants a lock washer on both nuts - no? What about a flat washer on the bolt end?
Moving to the rear of the differential - the AIM shows a lockwasher on each of the four bolts - mine came apart with a flat and a lock on each - what's the real deal?

The front mount on a 68 is interchangeable with the later mount. The two bolt holes in the mount were reinforced after 68 with plates and the front was notched out. I have a NOS 68 mount if you want to keep you car original.
Hi W,
I can only offer what's on my 71...
The two front bolts had no washers on the bolts, just the slotted nuts and cotter pins.
The four rear bolts to the cross-member are the bolts and a regular lock washer against the bolt head.

Alan
