That's the same link. It's just two clicks up from my link. After clicking on the link above click on the "Jim Shea Articles" and then the steering gear adjustment document and you end up at the same place.

Thread from 2009.

Be aware- improper adjustment of the steering gear box can destroy the internal gears.

Send it to Gary...GTR1999 like I did and you will be amazed at how good these boxes are when hand adjusted.....better than when new from the factory

You might want to read through this thread:

Here's the link to Jim Shea's instructions for on-car adjustment of the steering gear.

These papers refer to manual steering so Power Steering is different?

I believe the ratio is different, but the steering box itself is manual in both cases. Stock C3 power steering has a steering assist piston, separate from the box, unlike the Borgeson unit.

The actual gear box is identical between Corvette power and manual steering systems.

This is great info.....but would like to pose a question.

Is this the same system and is this applicable to a C4? 1994 model year.

Thank you!

No. C4 went rack and pinion.

no the c4 had much tighter R&P steering with two optional ratios.
I have 18"x 9.5 tires on my 74 and although the steering seems pretty decent, its when I hit the slightest bump that the car jumps or swerves and scares the crap out of my at times... Im just something is worn out. I have to get it up on ramps or a lift. I made this screw adjustment to my old dodge ram years back and it did wonders there.

I told how to do this in another thread....amazing the difference huh! And how EASY it is. Mark the Allen and the Jamb nut for the future.

Check the rag joint periodically.

GREAT!

unkahal

check to see if the tie rod ends are set to Quick ratio or Slow ratio...that'll make a difference to...depends on preferences.
