Default 1968 wiring question

I have the 68 diagram thanks to a forum ,member. My question is:

There is a "console ground" wire shown onthe diagram between the temp gauge and the ammeter. What does that wire ground.

Default 68 wiring

Hello
I have a 68 and the chevy assembly manual- I am looking at the wiring diagram and the counsol ground goes to the grounging block and the 14B wiring goes to the heater lamp; also,: 20 gray continues from the heater lamp to the counsol lamp.

Good luck
Ed

Default Console wire's

I'm having the same problem with my 68, There was a black wire laying on the floor under the console trim plate and a male Ground clip on the trim plate it self, so I made a jumper wire hooked it to the trim plate and the console light come, on but no heater light. Just thought you may have found where these wires go.
Chrisco.
