The seat bottoms in my brother's 69 are broken, I've found repair kits for 70 and up that look like 1/4" thick plate that screws into the seat bottom. Is there a difference between the 69 and 70 seats? If so, how do you repair the 69 seat bottoms?
The seat bottoms and tops are different. The back repair plate you found for the 70-78 style seat will not work.
The seat back bottom on the 68-69 style seat has a catch on one side and a bumper on the other, it's a different seat all together.
I've repaired these seats before it's not that hard of a job. Most of the metal work if the backs are rusted out will need to be fabricated. Even if you are missing a striker you can make one of these pretty easy if you have a pattern.
