Default Radiator Overflow cap

I have had my 73 Vette for about 3 months now and I've had all kinds of repairs/upgrades done to it from the rear end to parking brake to bearings to master cylinder to seat belts to head lights that pop up randomly to a minor electrical problem that completely shut the car down...anyway, today, I noticed that antifreeze/coolant was leaking out of the car...well, I don't have a lid on the coolant overflow tank (was like that when I got it) and the hose that comes off of the radiator cap is just cut (just noticed today)...I bought the tank lid, but I noticed that it has a spot for 2 hoses...the one hose I know is the one that is currently cut and hanging there...but where does the other hose go? Forgive me if this is a dumb question, but I've tried looking at various pictures online and I can't quite see where the other hose goes...any insight would be appreciated

The hose from the radiator goes to the lid fitting with a dip tube to the bottom of the overflow tank. Other fitting has a short hose that allows for overflow of the tank. Check if your rad. cap has a refill valve in the center that allows coolant back into rad when engine cools. mds...

On my 73 SB there is a tube coming off the radiator to the over-flow tank cap. There is another hose on the over-flow tank cap that just points down at the ground in case of coolent overflow. This second hose runs forward, goes past the radiator, and then turns down towards the frame and ends just below the frame. The first hose is connected to another hose inside the over-flow tank, as preveiously mensioned above.
