Default tach, spedo cable grommets

OK
Cables are already there but the grommets are shot. Do you you have to remove the wires and cables to thread them through the grommets or
do the grommets "seperate" to allow you to place the cables into them.
thanks

Looking at the pictures from Dr. Rebuild the gromments are solid.

I have replaced grommets by cutting one side and sliding the cable into it. If you are concerned about leaks you can seal it with black silicone sealant, but I have never done that. The pressure of being in the hole will hold the grommet together and mine have sealed fine.

You can split them as described above.

Hi B57,
I, too, agree with the need to split the grommets.
In fact, even disassembled, the tach and speedo cable connectors, and the back-up light wire connector won't fit through the holes. Just the vacuum lines, and oil pressure line fit the holes.
Regards,
Alan
