Default Need help identifying my camshaft.

After getting weird results when degreeing my camshaft I decided to pull it out of the engine to try to once and for all identify what it is. The number on the back side of the cam is 240609 and it has CWC 1548 on the side of the blank. I have no idea who manufactured this cam or what it actually is.

This is in a big block.

I'm going to be switching over to a roller cam, but I'm not sure what grind yet.

I can't be of much help, Steve. CWC is just the manufacturer and supplier of the cam core. They don't do any finish work. The key as to whose cam it is and the specs of the grind would be in the 240609 number. You may get a lucky hit in Google.

Google has failed me thus far. I did find a man modeling in woman's clothing on youtube with the search for the number by itself. It was kind of a metaphor for the entire ordeal I've been having with this engine. This was supposed to be a comp cam.

If you send it in to Compcams, they can Adcole it and tell you the exact specs.

I think I'm just going to get a roller cam at this point and be done with it. I am displeased yet again of finding another part in my engine that was not what the builder advertised it to be.

Good move. You will enjoy the performance increase for the same amount of work. Good luck.
