Default Rear end pulls

When driving and releasing the gas (on the Highway at normal speeds) the rear of the car pulls to the left. It also feels loosey goosey as it tries to recover.
What does that sound like?

Releasing the gas? Were you at a Mexican restaurant?

Anyway, you might check the following:
- check all suspension components for looseness. I.e. all of the shocks, linkage, half shafts, trailing arms, etc. There shouldn't be any slop anywhere. Make sure transmission and engine mounts are tight too.
- check air pressure in all your tires
- check alignment, especially if you have wide tires (front and rear)

Default Mexican Gas

Thanks for the follow up. I inherited this Corvette and have been rebuilding the front and rear end. Just got it to drive yesterday and realized it pulls to the left as posted and that it's a GAS GUZZLER!.

I Think it's a motor or trans mount OR BOTH. Car had rotted rubber everywhere when I got it - hence the front end total rebuild.

Thanks for follow up. Any other ideas welcome.

Several possibilities- here are a few... worn differential side yokes... sloppy rear wheel bearings... loose trailing arm front bolt or bushing.. bad strut rod bushings... rotted (bad) front A-arm bushings.

Jack the rear up with the wheels off the ground.
Grab each rear tire at 12:00 and 6:00 and VERY firmly twist the tire top to bottom.
It takes some muscle to do this... you have to be aggressive. If you hear a clunk, try to get a peek at the junction of the diff side yoke at the case... if it moves more than .060", your yoke ends are worn on the inside of the case.

At the same time, look at the strut rod bushings.

Now grab the tire at 9:00 and 3:00 and do the same test.. if it clunks, it's possible wheel bearings.

I've had front a-arm bushings, bad trailing arm bushings, loose trailing arm, worn yokes all cause the rear end wander.

MEASURE YOUR TIRES ON THE REAR, SIDE TO SIDE. A LITTLE DIFFERENCE IN THE REAR TIRE SIZE WILL MAKE IT PULL AS YOU DESCRIBE.
