decoding a 700R4
Okay here's one for you guys. A friend gave me a 700R4 which I may use in a swap depending what I find out here. According to the outside it is an older model because of the 2 pressure ports on the passenger side. However the Tranny is a Service Replacement Transmission Assemby, rebuilt for General Motors. It has a tag on the drivers side with this info stamped in it. 08YZ M4 035 859428 not all in a row but all stamped on there. Also on the tranny in yellow chalk is 8YZ. It appears as if all the id stamps on the passenger side have been ground off. I was told this came out of an 88 Camaro Iroc Z. Any help would be appreciated.
