Default Starting problem
]
got a problem. I have just replaced the starter in my 74 was having problems befor with that and now I have a new problem. Every now and then when I go to crank it, it just clicks. Then I have to turn the key again to get it to turn over. Why would it be doing this after replacing with a brand new starter??? Need help.

bad connection? Ground or hot lead. Did you clean the connectors good before reinstalling? Get em good and tight?

Make sure your battery is fully charged!!!!

Sounds as if the battery is weak.

hmm.... I didn't even think about doing that but your right that maybe it. I'll have to try that and see if that does the trick.

If the problem is random...I wouldn't suspect the battery...but that's just me

Yeah I'm gonna have to check the connections the next time I'm under it. I'm hoping it's that and nothing major like wire.
