I got the shifter from sprint in the mail...it looks sweet...first rate work.
I can't wait to get it in...I also have a new shift boot so the interior is slowly getting dressed up...not just to get all the stuff in !!
 the shifter was made by a forum member...
sprintcardriver...he posted above....its sweet...very good detail...looks just like the picture I posted above...we are getting 5-10 inches of snow next 2 days so I wont have it in this weekend... :(
Is it possible for you to add a couple of button to it?
What I want to put together over the next year is nitrous and a line lock. I really don't know much about ethier one yet. I got a nitrous kit but still need to learn more about it and also the line lock.
But what I envision, is once I arm them by a switchs on the console, then activating/deactivating them from the shift ****. I may be so far off it's not funny.
One of the reasons I bought a **** from Srintcardriver is so I can add a line lock button to it. Should be able to just screw a push button into a hole tapped into the side of the ****:D
Then yea, the wires would have to run down the side.
After reading what 427V8 and you are talking about, I'm not sure what I want and or about running the wires on the outside or inside. I guess it's something we all can think about. How to integrate the switches, I guess we'll have to see what switches are availiable.
427V8; it sounds like you have already been thinking about it, do you have some switches picked out? I think I would like mine small.
This is so , I have been thinking about this before but thought I would just have to bubba something together.
I would want a small snap action switch for the line lock. It would have to be in a place where it didn't get bumped accidentially. I'd hate to hit it during an autocross run
I'm also thinking that it would be better to have the switch somewhere else, like on the center console...
I was also thinking about the practical placement on the ****. Could get confusing. If you have a big hand like mine, might hit the wrong button. I also thought that I could make a bracket that would wrap around the spoke on the steering wheel. Sorta like where we put the radio button on the race car. That way you can always keep your hand on the wheel.
Tha only mod I did was take out the locking mech between 1.2.3 gears so I can shift down faster than the tranny, but now I have a shift kit and hopefuly that will take care of the shifting.
The only down side is having to warn everybody that gets in the car NOT to touch the shifter. :nono:
