I'm putting my hydroboost on, and I've never put hose ends on braided hose before. I'm completely unsure how to do it. I've got aeroquip reusable fittings and aeroquip braided hose. I've pushed the hose into the fitting until it bottoms out, but the hose pulls right back out. Can someone help me with this? I feel like the biggest idiot asking this question.

After you get the hose all the way into the fitting wrap tape around the hose so you can tell if it is being pushed out of the fitting. Next put lubricant on the male end and get it started by hand then use a wrench to tighten it down until there is only about a 1/32" gap.

So I put the hose all the way down and put tape around the top. Then I pull the hose back out, put (what kind of lubricant) on the male end way down in the fitting. Then push it in, and get a wrench and crank the nut on the fitting down until there's a gap of 1/32" between the fitting and the tape put on earlier?
