The 76 frame will take the 454 and 500 HP without any mods. The suspension? What do you paln to do with the car. Race, autoX or street drive.

500+ HP is not a problem.

454 bolts in. For handling the optional FE-7 sus. will do it. If ride is an issue you could just use the FE-7 sway bars w/ std. sus. The primary advantage C4 had over C3 was the larger wheels & tires.

Dont forget pulleys and brackets, yours will not work with the 454.

The C4 suspension can be done. It just takes a lot of work, and the right equipment. For most guys I'd just recommend buying an aftermarket frame designed to bolt on the C4 parts. It's the old "time/talent versus money" decision.
The stock C3 frame is notorious for poor strength in torsion. It can be beefed up if done in an intelligent way.

Good luck, and post lots of pictures.

The 454 will fit right in.
Just did put 496 with a 8-71 blower in my 76.
Changed the steering to a rack and pinion and the suspension to the leafspring suspension.
Remote powersteering reservoir.
The barke booster was changed to a 7 inch dual diaphram to accomodate the valve cover.
Exhaust is a jethot sidepipe set up
