Now that cool weather is upon us (down to 40's ) my tach will occasionaly freeze at 0 when first started, then jumps a few times left to right, then back to 0.
After driving for a few miles the tach begins to work fine and throughout the day is ok.
Warm days are no problem. Starts right up and works fine, seems to be cold related.

Any ideas ? It's a 78.

Tach filter? I just read somewhere that this could cause your problem but have never experienced it my self. Look for the tubular shaped thing on your intake near the distributor...should be a wire going to it from the distributor.
