A freind and I were looking at it the other day and it looks damn near impossible! Has anyone had any expierence doing this project? I really don't want to remove the clutch assembly and the stearing column to do so. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I am trying to do the same thing right now. I only see 3 too. For once I am proud to be 5-4, plenty of room to move even with the seat in. Let me know the secret if you get them out.
In the firewall there is a plack that has four bolts on it... don't remove it! We did and there isn't anything under there! We thought it'd be a hole or something to get to the 4th bolt but we were wrong. Granted we tried this w/ out a hayes or chilton. So i felt pretty stupid about that move.
You can get a booster/master cylinder combo at Advance Auto for ~$80.00 IIRC. To get the booster off you need a ratchet, deep socket, 2 universals (wrapped with electical tape) and an extension. Make sure you have an assitant handy to provide beer and you might want to practice drinking through a straw while laying in your back. I found that removing the clutch safety switch provided a little more access to the upper nut but that operation presents its own set of challenges.

Did you use their (AA's) setup yourself? Was the pedal pushrod the right length? I know a lot of us (myself included) have run into issues with the pedal rod being too short on replacement boosters. Currently I'm running a booster with a rod that I lengthened with a coupling nut and a bolt with the head sliced off.
Well we did it! It really wasn't that bad. The brake peddle clip was kind of a pain but we got lucky on that deal getting it back on.
Anyways, we got it all together bled all the brakes and the peddle got hard. So i was kind of excited to have brakes again!
But when we started the car the peddle went spungie again and straight to the floor. I don't know what i'm gonna do. Probably run vaccum tests again to see where i'm leaking.
