I can't seem to get total advance above 27.I just checked the runners off my other 383 Weiand 8000 intake and outside measurement is 3/8"bigger than performer.Guess whats going to get changed next. :confused:

Default All in the launch.

I bet your 60 foot times are the difference in your times. You can have more horse power but if you spin more at the beginning you will have worse times.

Actually i hardly spin at all with either engine.I power brake it just enough to tighten up and raise the body.The engine i have in now feels like it has more tork when it shifts.

Sounds like Weiand is step in the right direction but until you can get 34 degrees total timing without detonation it is not going to run as hard as it can

WHO HAS THE BEST 1/4 MILE with the preformer 2101. Anyone running 12's?
the 8004 is way bigger; i have both
Well almost.... 13.10 with a performer I bought 17 years ago. I wonder if improvements have been made but I don't have any more hood clearance. I think I could get there with more bite off the line. I was just on my street tires. I hope to maybe get one run in the 12's then I will be happy.:D

On the timing issue. My engine is a 350 +.040 and I run about 37-38 total. Is that too much???????

In the process of changing intakes and checking carb.Also ordered new fuel pump.Thanks for all the help and suggestions keep them coming. :chevy
