Default 76 windshield removal

Hello.

My windshield is getting close to being removed. Had a question...It seems something is holding it at bottom middle of windshield..I looked under lip with a flashlight and mirror and discovered 4 rivets about 2 inches apart..Is this holding me or just where the good seal is left?.Been using a spackle knief a little at a time and a 1/16 " steel wire....Been trying to find a windshield removal tool and I heard piano wire works good too. The problem at the bootom of windshield is that tool or blade needs to be long to cut into seal...(if thats holding me)

Thanks, Pete

There are no rivets holding the windshield; not sure what you're seeing.
You may want to contact an auto glass company with drive up service. They'll come to your place and remove the windshield.

Good luck.

If you are determined to remove the windshield yourself...there is a wire made just for cutting te urethane so the windshield can be removed. It is rough so it will saw through the urethane. Piano wire is really hard to use due to it can slice but not cut it away. This wire is cheap and you will find it at autobody supply houses or NAPA might carry it.
