Emergency Hood Cable
I know I've seen it somewhere here that someone made an emergency cable out of a carb choke cable that went down to the front of the car and had a ring to grab to open the hood in case the origional cable broke. Anyone know where this thread is?

I used a hanging plant setup. It was dirt cheap, stainless steel wire, loop already in it with a rubber sleeve over the swage. It works great. Remember there are two latches to be released. If the wire going over to the passenger side latch breaks just having one hood release wire may not work. Remember also that there are two grommets located adjacent to the latches on both sides that can be removed so you can trip the latch with a screwdriver or "Z" shaped tool.
