U-Joint Caps Stuck
I'm trying to replace the u-joints on my driveshaft, but the caps are completely stuck. The straps are off, just can't get the dang caps out of the driveshaft. I've learned that a screwdriver and hammer aren't working, so what's next? Does anyone have any good ideas?

You can try PB Blaster. Soak the caps for a few days to see if it helps. I used a 10" C-Clamp and sockets the last time I replaced u-joints but I have since bought a 6-ton press that would work better.

in the past I have used a junk socket not as wide as the u-joint cap. Placed it on the cement floor. Then lowered the u-joint cap and drive shaft onto the socket. Then used a hammer on the top of the drive shaft around the u-joint. This in turn forces top cap upwards and out..
