Default exhuast questions

I own a 77 vette and my next project is exhaust. It is an automatic and was all original but i installed an edelbrock intake and carb.I have debated on hookers side exhaust systems but i decided i wanted to run dual. corvette central has a new dual system with patriot tight tuck headers 14 guage aluminized pipes and magnaflow mufflers. (part number 232189). I was wondering if anybody has ran this system and what they have to say about it. what are the pros and cons, and some advice on what you think about the system.

Thanks,
Kyle

Are you ordering a system intended for a 77, including a cat, or, lets say, for a 74, without a cat? On my 77, I went the 74 route, with 2.5 inch aluminized pipes and 2.5 inch Magnaflows. The true duals utilize the second hole in the trans crossmember. I bought a bracket from MidAmerica to hold both pipes at the crossmember. I have full length headers on mine, but that required a trip to an exhaust shop to fab the front pipes to attach to the header collectors. The Magnaflows can be tucked up between the spare tire housing and the fenders. You can see that in the pic.

Should be fine for mild setups.

I only use full length headers.

Was it fairly easy to install?
And how does it sound?

I just installed this system on my 77. It's a 4-speed. It was easy to install and sounds good. It has a nice tone and not to loud. The problem was it took 6 weeks to get it. Once the pieces started to come they came randomly over a week and a half. If your motor is stock or a little above you will like it.

Thanks for the input.
My motor is stock with just a high performance intake an carb but I would use the 323189 system for the 4 speed and the 76-79 th350 if I have a automatic transmission right?

I have the 323189 and there is about a inch and a half around my bellhousing so I would think it should work with a auto. They will send you brackets for the crossmember to center them, but you will have to drill one extra hole in each side of the back of the crossmember to mount them. The next mount is on the muffler. So I made a strap from the frame to the tail pipe right behind the diff. The header collector on one side rubbed the block a little bit so I ground it down. But other than that there is plenty of clearance. Even the oil filter is easy to change.
