Whats a good figure to expect for a paint job on a 76 vette? Keeping it the same color.

That is an awfully open question. It is of course depending on how much body work is involved and the quality of pait work you are looking for. You can take it to Maaco and get a $500 dollar paint job which will probably not look bad if you are using your car as a daily driver. I have probably right at $1000 dollars alone in my materials that I painted my car with. If you are looking for a show quality paint job you are looking at thousands of dollars. Just depends on what you want.

Hi DV,
Take a look at the thread entitled 'Return of Steel Cities Gray....' , by HAMMADOWN, in the general side of the C-3 forum.
You can see what CAN be involved in a paint job. You might not be thinking of being this thorough, but you can see where the money and time goes.
$2500-$15000+
Regards,
Alan

The guy is insane. $5000 for what? You do all the work , and all he does is spray the body? I suppose he wants you to buy the material also.

you won't find a good body shop to quote less than 5k for a good paint job.
I thought that was too much also, after searching for over 1 year.
I finally painted my own car, that is the only way to get a reasonanable price,
and a good quality paint job. good luck, in your search. 69VETT

If you are doing all the labor and have have the place and equipment
to complete the job and buy good materials .you can strip the car and
complete it for less than 3500.00
Now after all this is done you will understand why it cost so much to have it done by someone else.
Hope you have as much fun as I did.
