Hello everyone. First of all I'm brand new to this site as I just bought my first corvette. I bought the car from and older couple that only had the car out once or twice in the last ten years and took very good care of it. The first drive we took was about 25-30 miles and all was well. The car then began pulling to the left when breaking. I figured the right caliper was acting up so I replaced both calipers and thats it. Now the car pulls VERY hard to the left when breaking AND driving. It dosnt feel like its out of alignment so much but almost like the car is going down the road diagnal its so bad. Its a little scary to drive. Could something have broke during our maden trip that would cause this? Like I said it drove great and after sitting for a few days this happened.
Check the rubber brake hoses that go to the caliper. Or better yet just replace them. They have a tendancy to swell on the inside cutting off fluid flow. On a car that old I would suspect that.
Thanks for the advise. I changed both front brake hoses and that took care of the pulling and handeling problem. Car goes straight and stops straight. I put about 20 miles of cruising around country roads on it and all "seemed well" so I decided to take I-30 home and see how the car would handel at a little higher speeds since everything was going so good. Well I turned onto the entrance ramp and went about half way down and noticed alot of traffic coming so I got on it a bit, ok alot, and hit 120 before entering the lane on the highway. I coasted down to about 90 thank god because thats when I tapped my brakes and this time the right rear didnt want to let go! It didnt lock up or anything but still pulled the car all over and scared the crap out of me. I actually drove well below the speed limit the rest of the way home and at complete stops the tire sounded like it would drag for a second before braking loose and turning again. I guess I will try changing the hoses on the rear to and see if it fixes it to. Is this a common problem with these cars. I've 25-30 muscle cars and worked on countless others, never a vett though and never had all the brake lines swell and go bad no matter how long they sat. maby one or two at the most.

Remember you are dealing with a 32 year old car and you mentioned you bought it from an older couple that did not drive it often. You need to go thru the whole brake system along with checking the suspension before you get yourself in trouble. These are sweet cars but like anything else need TLC.

Ya the ramp was almost straight and down hill. The car does have a agressive cam in it but I guess in a big piece of plastic even a 350 smog motor from the late 70's will really get up and go.
