I purchased a rolling frame several years ago to use in a street rod project and due to personal finances, it appears that I'm going to have to sell it.. I thought I was told it was a 75, but, I can find no numbers to ID...It looks like pics of 73 frame I have found on various sites, but, it has tabs on rear of frame for bumper brackets. It does not have a catalytic converter, but, does have smog nipples on manifold and muffler. Anyone know of a helpful site?
Check the top of the driver's side frame rail near the #4 body mount. All Corvettes have a VIN derivative stamped on the frame at that location. The VIN derivative will show the model year.
Second location for the VIN stamp in driver's side top of the rail about where your left hip would be if you were in the car.
That's one thing I am sure of...transverse leaf spring on aluminum IRS rear end...steering arm with a power assist servo on the tie rod arm..4 wheel disks....frame kicks out between the wheels....these are the only numbers I find on the frame....I cleaned it and marked over with a soapstone to make it more legible...seems to be an x or 8 after the nubers I previously listed.....frame pretty well matches the pics I've found for a 73 with the exception of the brackets for bumper on the rear.

Aluminum IRS is for the 80-82 rears. Not to say it wasn't modified at one time but early years were cast iron diff units.
Any tips on posting pics.....maybe basic members aren't allowed that priviledge
There is probably a sticky about posting pics. Basically, open an account on something like PhotoBucket, upload the pics, and copy/paste the [IMG] link in to your post. No pic posting restrictions for non-supporting members.
