Your avitar says 78 so that is what I am going with. Quite simple remove three screws that are mounted in speaker cover (Hid behind carpet just feel for them and you will find them. 2 on top and 1 in lower. Remove covers and losen nuts that hold speaker to cover.
Thats it. I hope your talking about a car with speakers already in it. If not you need baskets that mount to body and speaker covers

Wow! Talk about a "cheezy" design. If you don't have the stock hardware, I sure wouldn't be trying to find it. 3/4" aluminum angle stock (Lowe's or other hardware store) would be a better choice for a stiffer frame. They also carry "C" clips for attaching sheet metal screws to metal strips/surfaces. Good luck with whichever approach you use.

That's an understatement. I dropped one of the brackets on the floor from 2' and it broke the plastic mounting tab off.
It has always seemed to me that after an older car design was finished, then it was sent to the radio guys who came up w/ something that would "fit". So the sound is what I describe as a joyful (I assume to some) noise (to me).
PS This is not a comment on the 78- speaker system in particular- I disconnected the 77 speakers in the 70s as unfit for music.
As you can see I used some PL9000 and glued a piece of wood to the underside and then mounted the speaker boxes to the wood. This still gives room to put your T-Tops in. You can also see that I have the 8 inch sub to the left and my amp in the middle. Doesn't look original but sounds fantastic. The speakers are right behind your head.
