Someone can give me the torque spec for the 3 bolt to reassembly the front spindle please????
thanks!
Are you talking about the ball joint stud nuts that hold the spindle to the BJ? If so, upper 50 lf-ft plus additional torque to align cottor pin hole 1/16 turn max.
Lower is 80 lb-ft with the same hole alignment note.
+ plus additional torque when necessary to align cotter pin hole
* tighten bushings only when arms are at riding height.
Lost formatting when I cut & pasted from VB&P's pdf. That sheet didn't spec the top bolt; I torqued mine to 55lbs. Seemed adequate but not confirmed as correct.
Thanks gary, but i'm talking about this:
Three bolts and I don't find the torque spec..
Oh, the splash shield. I've looked in all my shop manuals and can't find it anywhere either. I guess you would be safe to use a generic torque spec for the grade, size and pitch of the fastener. Three bars on the head is a grade 5.
