There has been an lot posted on this in the general section do a search
I believe you can stuff 5 inch speakers behind the kicks. I went with 6"
on top of the kicks they sound great.
What kind of system are you going with?

About 2 1/4" Depth & 4" Width. 4X6 are easy fit. Maybe 5X7 would fit.
A mounting plate should be used to separate the front from back sound waves to prevent cancellation for better bass.

The trick is to measure carefully!
I tried Pioneer 4 x 6"s but was not happy with the quality of sound.
