Just letting out a little excitement! :) Finished up the frame today by installing the brake and gas line. Waiting on the machine shop to finish the machine work on my motor and as soon as they do I can finish the rebuild/installation and will be ready for the body. Looks like I will be ready for summer, hopefully. You guys have been a big help during this frame off restoration. Thanks!
454Big,
I bought a 100lb sand blaster from Sears, and it done a great job. It stripped it down to the metal. I used Rustoleum primer out of can for the base coat and Rustoleum satin for the final two coats. It turned out real nice.
The frame was shipped to the sandblaster on Thursday and they will do the job on monday and tuesday. The tuesday the frame will be picked up by the powdercoaters and instantly zincpowdered, then color powdered.
I handed some extra bucks to the blaster so that they will clean every nook and cranny in the frame!
By friday I will have my frame back home. We will see......
Looks like you are going to have a showroom frame. Keep me posted on how this frame turns out when you get it back. I considered on going to that extent on my frame, but the budget didn't allow it. I knew I was going have to buy alot of new stuff for my vette that's why I decided to do the frame myself. :yesnod: Good luck on yours!!! :)
Sounds like you have got it going on Frank...
I am with Steve though on this one..let the available finances direct me. I did POR-15 mine though..

Thanks Steve,
Where is Dandridge at in Tenn....and what year is your vette? I got some stuff laying around from my rebuild if you need something.

Neil, Dandridge is about 30 min east of Knoxville. I am restoring a 69 vert! :yesnod: I am waiting on my engine to return from the machine shop now. I am rebuilding a #'s matching 350/350. I don't know if anything you have laying around will work on my 69., but I appreciate you telling me. If I run across anything that I think might be interchangable I will let you know. How far are you from Knoxville?
Steve,
I am on the Kentucky border where I-24 meets it about 50 miles north of Nashville. Teresa lives close to you looking for someone to check her car out. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=252810
We will have to meet one day for sure...
