Default Scatter Shield Question

Anyone know the make/brand of this two piece scatter shield?? It came with my car and I cannot find any info on the shield or on the web.

Looks just like the one I have on my car. I *think* it's an old Lakewood. I got it from a buddy of mine.

Must be "very old" Lakewood as I looked high and low on their web site and could not find a thing that looked like this.

Lakewood just like the one I have on my 72 LT-1.

I ground down the drivers side flange and angled it forward to clear the clutch fork (at the rear by the clutch fork opening.)
The housing dialed in centered but the rear face was 0.024" out of parallel to the rear block face so, I put it into a DCM flywheel surfacer and spent about 4 hours grinding the transmission mounting face then I flipped it over and did a light pass on the block mount surface after getting it parallel.

I also TIG welded the block plate nuts to the bellhousing and block plate to make the installation of all those bolts less of a chore like was done on our old Drag Race Camaro in the 70's.

One last modification is to cut the bottom flange off to give yourself more ground clearance as it hangs TOO LOW and will act as a saftey brake on each and every speed bump you encounter. About seven inches below the block surface is about where you should cut it parallel to the ground to prevent grinding (yes you lose some of the saftey features of the bellhousing but, if a flywheel assembly exits towards the bottom, that won't bother me much, it is my feet and toes I am concerned about. I have been through a few NHRA inspections and never had anything said about the missing bottom flange.)

The bellhousing works very well now but, the allen head countersunk bolts lost about 1/6th of their depth and will be impossible to replace if I ever lose one. My bellhousing was a $60 swap meet "special" and my time as always, is "FREE"

Oh..it's old for sure. I don't think 2 piece ones are SFI certified anymore. But it sure makes working on an adjustable *slipper* style clutch a lot easier!!

It's not made out of as thick of metal as my old Mcleod that I used for 20+ years..but I thought it was cool and got my buddy to let it go. Mine was dead on and required no work to dial in.

Thanks for the info. Now I know it's a Lakewood.

After reading Solids reply, I am now wondering about the face of the shield being parallel to the block. I'm doing this to get ready for a Keisler T-45rs supposedly being shipped this week (hopefully!!). I can find nothing in any Tremec info about the bellhousing being parallel, only about alignment checks. So, is this an issue I should check and need to worry about?? Not racing this car, it's only a cruiser.
