Rear Mono-spring Install Questions
I performed the VBP Monopring on my '74 this weekend. It went really well, but i have a few questions:
1. What should i torque the center mounting plate to? (with the 4 bolts).
2. How far do i go with the spring mounting links? I'm not sure how much to tighten them. When do i stop?

70 ft lbs for the 4 bolts. As far as teh outer ones these control ride height. adjust to get the proper ride height. Mine are adjsuted so the the threads are about 1 thread out of teh nut. Yours might differ

1. I used 70 because that's what the Shop manual says. But i was reading a tech note today (on the forum) about a spring install. Apparently, the instructions with the spring said something about 30ft lbs. I didn't have any instructions, so i just went with what the manual said, but i wanted to make sure ths is right.
2. We are at about 11/2 of thread, but i really just don't know what is right or even ball park. It is particularly difficult since the body if off. Is there a rule of thumb for ride height?
