serpentine idler question. help please.
I have a serpentine setup off of a 1992 GMC fullsize truck. i took all the parts off the truck myself but when i went to put it on my motor today the idler pulley doesnt fit right. is there a sleeve or bushing that i may have dropped that goes behind it?. and if so can you buy them anywhere?.....or am i going back to the junkyard and hopping to find it

I think I know what you are talking about. Behind the idler pulley it has a "stepped" washer or bushing or what ever you want to call it. I would venture to say it is a dealer item or revisit the junk yard
Usually that bushing is retained by a rubber O ring so it dosn't fall off the bolt

yep i think art is correct, i am pretty sure there is a "stepped washer". I can check tonight when I get home and can look at my old 1991 chevy as it has the same setup you are dealing with. Have you checked for hood clearance yet? I have heard that might be an issue with the serp setup from the trucks of 88-95 ( pre-vortec). Did you have to drill and extra mount hole in the passenger side head??? Good luck with finding that piece! Let me know if you need anymore info.
