Had valves adjusted at GM dealer. Found shavings very small in oil change. Have loss of power on hard accelerate and noise from right bank. I had a Cutlass timing chain go. Bent rods messed up lifters and so on. How do I adjust those rods? Do I rreplace all in that head? No noise at idle and none reved say 2 to 3000 rpms. Other wise engine strong and oil pressure strong.
Thanks Gary

There is no adjustment for pushrods, just the valves. Maybe at some point the valves were adjusted improperly and now you have a wiped lobe or two on the cam? I had a similar issue in my chevelle. Very slight ticking at idle almost unnoticable until you mash the throttle, then alot of noise and crappy power.

Do the pushrods rotate?
Place a white mark on your p-rods and watch them as the engine runs to see if they rotate. Proper operating rods will rotates as the lifter rotates otherwise no rotation indicates a wiped cam lobe. U can also compare exh valves with a straight edge while engine idling to see if some have less lift than others - then measure the intake valves.
If the dealer adjusted your lifters and now u have noise from the right bank with metal shavings in your oil it reads like a wiped cam.
U can do a search on the forum here as the method to adjust the lifters/valves has been posted plenty. If you second guess your dealers work the only way to know for sure u have a wiped cam is to pull the intake and inspect the lifters - each one. If u haven't adj vlvs or removed the intake before this maybe more than you can handle now and maybe u should return to the dealer and ask what the cause is.
If your dealer did the work and you suspect a problem resulted, your first effort should be to call the dealer. If you go working on that engine and then call him, they'll just say you voided any guarantee of their work by working on it yourself. Take a photo of the metal shavings you found and keep them in a small glass bottle for reference. If necessary, a metallurgy lab can tell what kind of metal those shavings are and determine what part they were from.
How long ago (time and miles) was that work done? Most mechanical work performed by dealers should be guaranteed for 90 days or more.
