Default should I re-connect this???

I just installed a Pretronix Ignitor-II and a Flame-Thrower III coil in my Calif. 73 L48. The instructions tell me NOT to use the capacitor that was in the distributor, but said nothing about the capacitor that was on the original coil.
My question is: Do I hook up the coil capacitor to the new coil?

I install the Ignitor-II and a Flame-Thrower III coil on my rebuild engine without any capacitor and every thing run perfect.

Those two caps are for completely different things....and perform two different functions. See if the radio gets any ignition noise when you lose the one on the coil. If not, then just eliminate it completely.

The 'filter capacitor' on the coil is to reduce/eliminate ignition firing noise from getting into the radio signal. If you have a newer radio head, you probably don't need it anyway. Having it or not having it makes no difference with the Pertronix unit [unless it is shorted or defective].

I'm enjoying my chamber exhausts sound and not the BLLLAAA BLLLAAA... on the radio.
