Default 12V Power in Dash

I'm looking for a switched 12V power source for the 74 electric oil gauge I'm putting in my 71. I've read "pink wire", but there's a couple of them and I don't want to start cutting incorrect wires. Does anyone have any pictures that show which wire would work well for switched 12V to the gauge? Also, where's the best place to attach a ground wire for the gauge? Thanks!

If you want to do your connecting at the gauges tap into the 18 pink for the fuel gauge for your 12v and then use the 14 black at the temp gauge for the ground( but the metal housing should be doing the grounding) and of course the dk blue is for the sender at the block.
(If you want to do your tapping in somewhere else let me know.)

What's the best way to safely tap into wires? Your idea sounds like a good one, I just want to make sure I do it correctly. And just to check, it's ok to run the fuel and oil gauges off the same 12V line?
