Default Need Brake help

I had this posted in the racing section but was advised to try here.

I race a 1968 Firebird in NASA and soon in HSR, brake rules in HSR are pretty strict. Must be OEM and Period correct. The Single piston brakes I'd been running have proven completely inadaquate.

I have an old set of rare factory 4 piston brakes from a 67-68 Firebird I'd started mocking up but I'm finding the parts are obsolete, I think I can make some C-3 parts fit and clear the HSR rules but I'd really like to borrow or rent some parts to try a mock up as I think everything looks about the same but isn't.

I'd need a spindle, rotor, caliper and bracket if anyone has something laying around, perhaps you did an upgrade and still have your OEM parts? They'll be returned, I won't grind or beat on them, I just need to figure out how to make them work before buying a bunch of stuff that may not work.
A set of rears would also help as I'm installing a 9" and will be adding disc to the rear as well.
Or will the front caliper work on the rear? No E-brake needed.

Any help is appreciated, I'm in the Southeast near Greenville SC and I'll be at Road Atlanta in December for the NASA event.

Thanks,
Gordon

Default Really neat car!

I used to run a '78 TA with a '69 GTO engine. I loved the car. When I moved back to the USA I wanted a cool formula 70ish with a 428 +0.060" ... but alas there is not many about; so I ended up with a 71 LS5 vette. Those brakes look similiar to a C3.

What engine do you run? What type of Goodyears are those? What is NASA and HSR racing? Sorry about the questions, but I love old birds! and vettes.

Sorry I can't help on parts

The engine is a 365 Pontiac I built with Aluminum KRE heads.
Tires are Goodyear Blue Streak Bias ply Vintage racing tires.

NASA is grass roots racing, you'll find about anything at a NASA event.

HSR is Vintage racing, pretty strick rules.

I talked with CSSB and John was some help but he seem to agree I need some C-3 parts to mock up.

Anyone got anything?

Why not visit a local Corvette shop and root through their junk pile?

Are you planning on running HSR group 5? If you are, believe me the rules are not that strict. There is a guy running a 5 speed mid year Corvette with Brembo brakes. You should be able to install the Corvette brakes without a problem. Give me a call at Duntov Motor Company 972-243-3838. I have cores laying around I would be happy to lend you to do your setup.
