Default AutoFab 4 Link Guys.. I need setup help.

:
Im having trouble adjusting my setup. I dont really know where to go from here. My track locating rod is too long. I think. I lost the instructions somewhere along the line, so I dont have the length specs in front of me (anybody still have theirs?). Ill have Josh at autofab email a set of instructions to me tomorrow. Its at 39.5" (center to center). That offsets my tires (judging from the top of the wheel wells) about 1/4" to 1/2". the track locating bar is on the chasis on the driver side, and on the axle on the pass side. the rear is offset to the pass side. I would have measured exactly, but my wheels arent centered in the wheel wells either. there is a 2" gap in the front, and a 4" gap at the back (approx). The links themselves are at the lengths spec'd out in the instructions. That was the last time I had that page of the instructions (I've been busy, havent had a chance to clean, you know how it goes). I had autofab weld up the brackets on the rear housing so I wouldnt have to worry about this part. guess I was wrong. I have the top link in the 2nd hole from the bottom. The bottom link on the axle is in the 2nd hole from the bottom, and on the chassis its in the bottom hole. SO... I'm guessing that I have to significantly lengthen the links to move the wheels toward the rear in the wheel wells, and have my track locating bar milled down to re-center the dif. Unless lengthening the bars also re-centers it, which it could. does that sound right to anybody? any other suggestions? If you want to see any pics let me know and I can have them up tomorrow after work.

Do you have the car at ride height? If the rear is hanging it will change the how the rear is centered in the car. The wheels will not be centered in the wheel wells. I think Autofab should make the bottom link bars about 3/4" longer. Set the car up on jack stands, leave the coilovers off and jack the rear up to the correct ride height and see it that helps.

I just re read your post. The rear is only off 1/4 to 1/2 an inch? Put a straight edge against the end of the axle tube and measure from the straight edge to the chassis with the rear at ride height. This will let you know if the rear is centered in the chassis. Dont go by the body, they are always off a little.

Run a string around the back of each tire and take it to the front of each front wheel. If the string is straight and barely touching both the front and back of the rear tire it will be close.

ok, its at ride height. tires are on the ground. same problem. side to side might be off 1" now.

If i adjust my links out half an inch on either side will that affect my % anti squat and my instant center?

my garage is poorly lit, so the pics arent the best. you get the idea tho.

so you can't shorten your track bar at all with these settings?

the track bar is as short as it will go. but centering the wheels in the wheel wells should move the rear back to center, or at least closer. I called autofab, they said it was ok to mill a little off the track bar, or even just mill the jam nuts down a little. I'm going to try lengthening the links about an inch or so and see where that gets me.

I extended my bottom bars as much as I could safely. You can go too far or it will be weak. I'll get you a measurement tomorrow. I think its about 11 3/4. I was thinking of calling Autofab and having them send me longer bottom bars.
