Hi Lars,
Do you have some problems with your frame that make you think it needs to be welded?
There have been some posts about frame reinforcing, perhaps those people will speak up.
Good luck with your restoration!
Regards,
Alan

Tjenare, granne.

I don't know in what state your frame is right now but my plans for my own frame will be to weld the frame beam U-halves together with constant welds and installing the usual reinforcement pieces.

wow, looking at those pictures your frame was pretty bad and the birdcage is toast. You've definately got your work cut out for you but it looks like you're doing some nice fabrication and metalwork to clean it all up. Good luck

Hi Lars,
I tried to look at the pictures but got a screen that said the link was broken. Now I feel like I missed something.
I'm glad to hear you're saving a Corvette in Sweden.
Regards,
Alan

There is a document online somewhere (maybe on the forum) that was published by GM many years ago. It details how to strengthen a Corvette frame for racing applications. The frame welding that you are doing is part of it, and there are some gussets that are added to the front crossmember.

Hey Lars, got your work cut out for yourself. Wish I had taken pics of what I did to the frame. I'll see if I can find some.
