Default Head mounting question.

I´m about to mount the first brodix IK180 cylinder head on my -78 L-82.
On the block there are two guiding taps, one on each side. The head does not enter the taps completely, there is a 1/8 inch gap between the head and the block. The head is in correct position - all the studs can be entered. Should I just force it down with the nuts, or is any other way to make it enter?

Those are alignment dowels. Most of the time, the head just plops down without protest. It would seem your IK heads are a bit snug there. I'd slowly tighten the head down. Resistance should not be severe. If you have to really crank down on the head bolts, the holes in the head are not correct. Do not be tempted to take the dowels out. They serve a purpose in aligning the head on the block.

Thanks, it´s done - used four bolts, and the head is in place. Thanks again!
