12 bolt IRS conversion

Any of you considering the 10 bolt to 12 bolt center section conversion might be interested in this thread I posted in the c1/c2 section.

Isnt it so that you cant fit 12bolt 3.08 ring gear in it?

Nope.....3.73's are as low as you can go numerically I believe without having to grind the case too thin. The larger head of the 3.08 pinion pushes the ring gear over further and causes even worse interference.

Tom's was working on a new case design a few years ago to allow higher ratios, but I don't think it ever happened.

That Tom's case has been "coming soon" for years. It's still shown on the web site. It would probably be overkill for for all but the most brutal use.
