What is the lowest temperature you would recommend dying interior parts outside in? I was doing some the other day when it was about 65 and they came out great. It's supposed to be about 58 today... too cold? Also, supposed to be in the 50's all week.
Also, if trying to dye the carpet bottoms on deluxe door panels, I have read both: spray them, let them dry and then brush them to make soft and I have read spray and then while wet take a brush to them to get the dye in there good.... thoughts?
I have always been asked my my interior resto guy to have the cars inside and at room temperature hours beforehand during colder weather. So I'd say anything less than 65-70 degrees F is probably too cold.......either for him personaly, or the material, he never really specified.
Can't help on the carpets, sorry.

70+ to be on the safe side. If the air temp is 58, I would pass and wait for spring.
I have always heard not to dye carpet. Buy replacement pieces. Carpet is vat dyed as part of the manufacturing process. The rest of the interior is color molded or dyed with automotive interior dye.

I used RIT dye on some tan carpet to make it black. I put the hot water/dye in a spray bottle and hit it good several times and it looked real good. I got some blue and went over some faded blue carpet in another car and it looked good as well. It did rub off onto stuff some for a while. It would be best just to replace it but it will look decent if you want a cheap/easy route..
