Default 1978 Center Console Light

Does anyone have a diagram of the Center Console Light Unit for a 1978? I replaced the the upper light bulb housing but there was nothing to complete the circuit from the bulb to the two wires connected to the housing. I think I am missing a part. Thanks for your help.

Remember it takes a special bulb for that socket.

Speaking of console lights- my 78 does not have any lighting at the heater controls or the shifter.

Are there lights for those areas? I did not see any loose wires or empty light sockets when I was fixing the heater selector assembly.

Its the one in the pic above. To get it to work right it needs the special bulb with the lens on the end.
It shines down on the heater controls.

Thanks, I have power and ground on the two wires that connect to the housing, but but there is nothing on the housing to complete the circuit to the bulb. Am I missing something? Thanks

See the socket sitting at the bottom of the pic ? The brass ears make contact when the socket is in place.

Where is it located- at the top or bottom of the center consoles (where the gauges are)?

Sorry don't mean to barge in, but Roger do you have the info for that light. Mine had a standard bulb that wasn't working. I changed it and still doesn't work. Should the light turn on anyway? Or does this only work with that light? Thanks.

I think this is it,but I'll go out to the garage and get you the Delco number so you can cross it.

edit- The light turns with the other dash lights. Check the gray wire for 12v when the lights are on and the black wire for ground.
