I have a 79 auto 2500 stall w/355 gears this combo will be all forged apx 10 to 1 comp with AFR 180 heads I have a 010 4 bolt and want to stay with a hydraulic cam Lunati 10603 227/489 232/504. AFR website states this combo is good for 430hp. Anyone with this level of power? How is it on the street?

I bought my 79 new and right after the dealer warranty 500 mile checkup i started hot rodding it.
My first cam, heads, headers, intake probably got me to 375 - 400 and it made the vette more fun to drive. I went through all kinds of additional changes and decided to jump into the stroker motors 383 or 396 ci. That is when the Vette because more fun and could actually really move even with my 700R4.
My advice is that a 350 will always produce only so much TQ. TQ is a function of CI. So hot rodded motors with more ci will always win.
I would save my money and use your block to jump to 396 ci with the heads and cam.
