blinker vs flasher
my turn signals work fine, tried to use flashers for the first time in a long time and nothing. Changed flasher relay but still nothing, fuses good, any ideas?

Does your 81 have the 4 way flasher in the fuse box and the turn signal flasher under the right side dash?

I don't know much about newer C3's but my '72 has two flashers, one for turn signals and another for hazard lights. One is in the fuse box under the dash on the driver's side and the other is behind the passenger side lower dash pad in a clip near the bottom.
Ok, it has a third one for the alarm horn but that's another story.

flasher is in the fuse box, turn signal kind of hangs above it against the firewall where it is a real pain to reach. Guess I will remove seat so I can get my big butt under the dash with a test light.

I was wrong
both relays are plugged into the fusebox, or they should be. after spending 15 min trying to line up the new relay, realized I had replaced the turn signal. Shoving head farther up in dash I saw the blank plugs where the emergency flasher should have been. 30 min to plug the old turn signal flasher in the top of the fuse box and I got emergency flashers.
