rag joint tolorence
I have a 71 coupe and set it on 73' rubber when I had it off the frame. This did raise the body up about 5/8 of and inch from the stock 71 solid bushings, but the stock box and rag lined up perfect, as I have a witness.....the guy who just rebuilt my steering column.
Now, the rag joint safty pins, when vertical, the bottom pin is about the width of a dime below the top of the metal slots, and about two dimes above it on top.
There is no binding, at least none with the car up on jacks and rotating the steering wheel from lock to lock.
Looking for input....is this with in tolorances of what the rag will handle or do I need to switch out to a solid universal joint? and if so, do you know which one will work???
